Project Controller (m/f)

In order to reinforce and expand its project and program activities, LuxSpace is recruiting for immediate employment of a Project Controller.

Job Profile:

The Project Controller shall support the project and programme managers on all issues pertaining measurement, control and improvement of productivity (i.e. efficiency of the allocated resources) of the respective projects.

In particular, the Project Controller shall regularly collect, analyze and report data relative to the execution of major projects to ensure that such projects progress according to plan and within budget, and to assess the level of productivity of all resources being employed in their execution.

Primary responsibilities / Key result areas:

1. Assessment and control of Productivity, Cost and Risks of major projects

  • Overseeing the overall project resource planning process
  • Assessing productivity in all project areas
  • Recommend to the project manager actions to improve effective use of resources and accelerate progress, if required more effective use of resources requires understanding of skills and capabilities of employed (manpower) resources.
  • Monitoring of all project costs, including identification of variances with regard to baseline forecasts and proposing corrective actions to the project manager whenever necessary to prevent or limit cost growth.
  • Ensure the integrity of project budgets and forecasts, e.g. by regularly performing Cost at Completion calculations based on input from the project manager and the project team.
  • Support the project manager in the identification and mitigation of schedule and financial risks.
  • Ensure adherence of the project controlling activities to company quality standards as defined by the company’s quality management rules.

2. Reporting

  • Conduct internal project audits on financial and schedule issues whenever required by either the project manager(s) or senior management.
  • Provide regular inputs for monthly reports and presentations in project review meetings, in particular in regard to: analyzing project schedules, progress reports and extract/report relevant trends; analyzing accrued resource utilization data, detect trends and assess the need for corrective actions
  • Support the project manager in generating program performance metrics for the use of senior management and, where applicable, ESA and/or the project customer.
  • Support the project manager as a liaison with the finance department for what concerns: planning and execution of incoming/outcoming milestone invoices monitoring a project's cash flow; preparing and presenting financial statements; creating annual regular project budgets and cost forecasts

Reporting line and scope:

The position owner will report to the Director Space Programs.

Interactions with other directorates:

Due to the nature of the role, the position owner will work and interact collaboratively across all company departments.

Candidate Profile and Qualities:

  • Bachelor degree or higher in a finance-related field, such as accounting, finance, business administration, or economics; or significant background or experience in a (technical) project management or controlling role, preferably in the field of aerospace. The combination of both is being considered an asset.

  • Methodical and structured work-approach
  • Willingness to travel
  • Taking responsibility and being proactive
  • Driving license desirable (class B)
